Special Edition DVD? Yummy! Tell me MORE! We've gone and done a 'George Lucas' with Xmas Chortles 2 and have digitally remastered the whole blummin' thing! We've transferred every single frame of all the live footage from the ORIGINAL Hi8 tapes to the PC and have digitally edited all the scenes together. All the CGI scenes have also been completely redone by Preferred Image and have now been rendered in full-screen DVD resolution. All the footage in the DVD is absolutely FIRST GENERATION - which means NO video quality degrading and lovely crispy clear hi-res CGI!! All 100% digital!! All the editing has been improved with a tighter edit of the whole movie, cleaner fades and scene transitions and enhanced audio (including new soundtracks and sound effects throughout). We've done it again - but done it BETTER!
Is it the same as the video version? No way, Jose! We've basically remade the movie from scratch. It starts off kinda similar to the video but as you watch it you'll be thinking "that's new", "that's different", "that's BONKERS!" ... Just about everything that was in the video has been improved, tweaked, enhanced or fiddled with in some way. You won't have to wait long before something new and cool comes along! A lot of new footage has been injected into the DVD version of Chortles 2 - including all-new music videos courtesy of The Mighty Boz, new CGI spoofs from Preferred Image, brand new Chortles footage and much, much more!
I like retro stuff - should I buy it? Absolutely, as the Xmas Chortles gang are retro fiends we've managed to sneak some classic retro computer related goodies into the movie. Look out for a beautifully rendered Sinclair ZX Spectrum flying through space in the 'Star Trek: Generations' inspired title sequence. Gasp in awe at the brave little C64 sat in the back of Kenzies X-Wing as the chortles posse attack the Death Star - and guffaw as Kenz crashes his ship after playing Manic Miner on his targeting computer (all rendered in gorgeous CGI-o-Vision). Oooh and aaaah at the classic retro games the gang come across in their visit to 'Tron Land' - All these and MORE retro gags have been snuck into the movie (you might recognise some classic Commodore 64 music being played in the background during some scenes!)
Is it just you and your mates getting pissed? Us? Pissed? NEVER! Well, okay, sometimes ... ! The DVD does feature quite a lot of alcohol fuelled tomofoolery - but there's stacks of other cool stuff too! And don't forget that some of the finest Xmas Chortles moments were the result of a copious intake of various alcoholic substances. Who can forget our classic tribute to the legendary Oliver Reed? (stomp! shout! skid!) Or Lee's awesome rolling-around mutant scene? Or the lads trying to break down the toilet door while Lee is delivering a throat pizza? The good thing about the DVD is it features 45 chapter points so now you can jump to your fave scenes instantly! No more wading through two hours of video tape to find your fave moments - they can all be accessed from the funky new Chortles 2 interactive DVD menu!
Do we get some Bouff too? Of course you do! We've always thought of Emily and the other Bits babes as being female versions of the Chortles gang (albeit somewhat cuter!) - so producing a remastered version of the movie gave us the perfect opportunity to include the Bits girls with the action. There's some classic sweary moments from the girls, equipment destruction and clinically strange dancing - Download the Zombie Craption video below to see what we mean! There's some quality Bouff moments scattered throughout this DVD - including clips from the saucy Bouffante.tv photo shoot!
